Christoph Offenhäuser
With the foundation of Weissenstein & Partner, Christoph Offenhäuser is focusing his professional skills on the entrepreneurial challenges of running a company without losing sight of the financial markets. Upon completion of a commercial apprenticeship with a Swiss industrial company, he graduated as a Business Economist and Financial Analyst, further reinforcing his passion for trading. He then entered the financial world taking up a position with Swiss Bank Corporation in Basel. He was successfully able to put into practice his knowledge of the financial markets that he developed during his studies, with positions in trading and portfolio management at various banks. From 2009, he was instrumental in setting up the Zurich Branch of Baumann & Cie, before being appointed team leader at a Zurich private bank in 2015. He held this position until setting up Weissenstein & Partner.
Professionalism with heart, integrity and trust: During her 30 years of professional experience in the financial sector, Sonja Schneider has integrated these three factors into her personal compass.
After graduating in economics from the University of Zurich, Sonja Schneider began her career in economic research at a major Swiss bank. She then worked for a large foreign bank in Zurich and Southeast Asia as a financial analyst in primary research and fund management. After obtaining her CFA charter, Sonja Schneider established the Strategic Investment Consulting service for wealthy private clients at an international consulting firm. Six years later, she expanded this service to include advice and support for institutional clients. This was followed by more than 13 years at the private bank Pictet & Cie. In 2020, Sonja Schneider decided to join an external asset manager, where she also was a member of the Executive Committee. Since the summer of 2023, Sonja Schneider dedicates herself comprehensively to her clients at WEISSENSTEIN & PARTNER.
Barbara Kuhn is our Head Legal & Compliance and also responsible for the company’s Risk Management. As an expert in her field, having graduated with a master’s degree in law (lic. iur.) from the University of Zurich, she advised and managed clients with regards to regulatory- and complex compliance issues, both for traditional financial assets as well as blockchain and crypto-currencies. In addition. and in her capacity as a lawyer, she works part time for a privately owned consumer goods company, specializing in textiles and sportswear. From 2012 until 2017 Barbara was instrumental building up and personally leading the ‘Legal & Compliance’ department at ACT Currency Partner Ltd. Beforehand, having gained her first practical insights into the finance industry as a lawyer at Swissquote Bank Ltd in Gland.
Christoph Schweizer is one of the best-known investment and fund specialists in Swiss Institutional Asset Management. From 1987 to 1993 he pursued a career as an asset manager with UBS in Zurich. He further distinguished himself over many years within the Pictet Group, setting up leading and highly successful funds, as well as heading new product development and global marketing. In 2015, he moved to Maerki Baumann & Co. AG. At Weissenstein & Partner, Christoph Schweizer now places his expertise at your disposal.
With his wealth of experience Rolf Kaufmann is fully dedicated to his clients. After reading law at the University of St. Gall HSG and being employed at a commercial law firm, he worked at Wegelin & Co from 1995 to 2012. During this time, he graduated from the International Wealth Management Executive MBA Geneva/Carnegie Mellon and held the position as legal consultant and personal assistant to Dr Konrad Hummler, Managing Partner of the bank. Subsequently, he was co-responsible for the implementation of the bank’s foreign subsidiary in FL and named partner in 2007. From 2012 Rolf was acting as Team Head and Deputy Branch Manager of Notenstein La Roche in Zurich. In 2017 Rolf teamed up with 1875 Finance SA, an independent asset management firm, as Managing Director and in 2020 joined Weissenstein & Partner.
Additionally, he currently serves as Member of a Foundation Council as well as Member of the Board and is co-founder of an innovation platform.
Andrea Cristofari knows the banking business like the back of his hand. Known for his impeccable demeanour and diplomacy, he strikes the right tone when addressing your requirements. A qualified businessman, his work in a career spanning more than 40 years, has ranged from stock exchange trading with various Swiss banks (since 1985) to bond trading at Banque Pictet & Cie in Geneva. In 2000, he transferred to Zürich as a member of the Private Banking team for the same financial institution. In 2009, he was one of the members of the Management team setting up the Zurich branch of Baumann & Cie. In 2015, he moved to Maerki Baumann & Co. AG as a Member of Senior Management and Senior Private Banker before finally establishing Weissenstein & Partner.
With over 30 years of professional experience, Marcus Bühler has the honed business acumen and expertise to shape long-term business strategies and bring to a successful conclusion established goals, for both private and institutional clients. After completing his studies in Business Administration, an MBA (Marketing and Finance), and a post-graduate CFA designation, he led the Canadian subsidiary of Banque Pictet & Cie before being assigned to the Bank’s Zurich Branch mid-1995. He was then promoted to Head of Private Banking in 2004. In 2009, he moved to Baumann & Cie, having the responsibility for setting up the Zurich operation. He was appointed as Partner with unlimited liability in January 2012. From 2014, he held the position of CEO of Maerki Baumann & Co. AG. As a graduate of the Swiss Board School, IMP-HSG, in addition to his Board position at Weissenstein & Partner, Marcus serves on several Swiss Executive Boards and has been CEO of a SIX-listed investment company.
